We have very beautiful cast iron radiators in the house. But they are all covered in layers of regular wall paint. This is not exactly fantastic to its functionality and also covers all the beautiful ornate details they have. So I decided to make a test with the laundry one.
It started purple-pink and almost plain…
And then I started stripping the paint ou of it. The purple-pink come out with the white one.
Then I got to a sort of golden metallic paint, probably the original one. Quite nice but impossible to keep.
I still have to finish the inside and the back, but it is going quite well. Not an easy job but it is nice somehow. And we can already she the details.
Beautiful, isn’t it? Now that I can see the details I found out that it is a Taylor-Forbes’ radiator. The company produced radiators from 1900 to 1950, but i believe these ones are early models.
Lots happening this weekend around here. Be back later with another post.
