Some weeks ago, I found an ad on the local newspaper. The presbytere of a little city close to us was closing down and selling all their furniture. We arrived there early sunday morning, just 15 min after they opened the doors and it was already busy, a lot of people carrying found treasures. We found nice treasures too and as we didn’t have enough space in the car on sunday I went back on the next monday. It was much calmer. The house itself is so beautiful, I am happy we had the opportunity to visit it inside too.
And that is the our lot (it is missing only a huge frame that I forgot to put together for the picture):
We got a nice coat hack. We always need more storage for coats but it would be a nice purchase even if only for the hooks..
We also got a set of 4 chairs for the playroom:
a nice old mirror and a cuve
a very old rocking chair (the kids are crazy about it and it soooo confortable)
I have already cleaned and placed everything. I will make a post on that soon!
I finished planting the last bulbs and preparing the garden for winter two weekends ago. Now I am focusing on indoor gardening. I moved the herbs indoor, replanted some and now I am waiting to see the results..
I also started forcing bulbs for the first time. I will do more later, as we are not going to be here for the holidays, but my first vases of paperwhites are already in full bloom.
I have some hyacinths that have bloomed. I forgot to move then to the garden and let then around. When I remembered this fall they were already sprouting so I gave them a chance. They are not supposed to come back and my negligence is made clear by their size, but they are beautiful and they smell nice anyway.
I also set a vase of cactus/succulents that is going ok. Not the happiest vase in existence but we will find its balance.
Organizing the basement is proving to be a long and difficult task.. Finally the first basement is something reasonable and it is ready for some indoor entertainment this winter. Just in time because it is snowing since sunday..
Pierre also fixed the door, so we stop having water inside when it rains too much. But it is a temporary fix that we will finish next spring. Then I show it here…
